Josh serves in Nigeria teaching the teachers of the impoverished church who lack access to biblical training and resources. He serves in the inner city jungles (slums) of Nigeria. His ministry is evangelism, discipleship, leading recovery fellowships, and writing and teaching courses for church leaders. The Fretheims head up City Ministries which is a ministry that serves the people of Jos, Nigeria in a number of ways. Some of these include providing free medical treatment, expanded prison ministries, new church plants, more than 500 film outreaches and the development of Genesis Farms, which trains people to care for large gardens that provide food and income for the people of Jos.

Scott is the director of the ever-growing website obrerofiel.com. More than 15,700 people now receive regular training for ministry through the website. There are also over 3,640 registered students in their online discipleship school Escuela ObreroFiel.

They are serving in South Asia among unreached people groups. This ministry includes learning the language and culture of the people, understanding their worldview, presenting the whole story of the Bible from beginning to end, and seeing a church plant discipled to maturity. While this goal of seeing a mature and thriving church established will take years, they are excited to be a part of what God is doing in South Asia.
